Biography
Professor Andrew Grulich, MBBS PhD, FAFPHM, trained in Medicine in Adelaide, and in Epidemiology at the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine. He joined the Kirby Institute at UNSW in 1995 and completed his PhD in HIV-associated cancer in 1998. He has led the Kirby Institute’s HIV Epidemiology and Prevention Program since 2002. He is Past President of the Australasian Society for HIV Medicine, and past board member of the International AIDS Society, and a Fellow of the Australian Academy of Health and Medical Science. Grulich leads research on the prevention of HIV and sexually transmitted infections in gay men, and was PI of the Opposites Attract study, one of the cornerstones of the U=U campaign.
