Abstract

Biography

Kylie is deputy director of Indigenous Health and Substance Use, University of Sydney and visiting research fellow, Centre for Alcohol Policy Research. Her highly original research in alcohol and other drug use is led by community or health service requests. Her team has pioneered translational research approaches. She is lead editor on a clinical textbook requested by Indigenous AOD workers nationally. Her work has won national recognition including an Australian Teachers of Media Award for a film on problem drinking.

Biography

Kristie is a Wiradjuri woman who is a PhD candidate and project coordinator at the University of Sydney. Kristie has worked at the Aboriginal Health and Medical Research Council (AH&MRC) of NSW, the University of Wollongong and was a member of the National Indigenous Drug and Alcohol Council (NIDAC). Kristie’s primary experience within the AOD sector includes Aboriginal focused workforce, policy, youth and residential rehabilitation development.

Doug was born in the centre of Wiradjuri country and has a particular interest in defining treatment outcomes in Indigenous residential drug and alcohol treatment services. He is currently undertaking a research PHD in defining treatment outcomes.
