Invitation to the APSAD Melbourne 2017 Conference
On behalf of the Australasian Professional Society on Alcohol and other Drugs, we are pleased to invite you to Australia’s cultural, sporting and coffee capital, Melbourne, home of the 2017 APSAD Scientific Alcohol and Drug Conference.
We respectfully acknowledge the traditional owners of the Kulin Nation, and pay our respects to elders past and present.
APSAD Melbourne 2017 Conference, to be held at Pullman Melbourne Albert Park from Sunday 12 November to Wednesday 15 November 2017 will showcase Australia’s high quality and cutting edge research into treatment, prevention, and policy. We will also welcome our international colleagues, with this conference serving as the perfect backdrop to build new collaborations and renew old ones. The 2017 conference will also continue to provide a rich environment for clinicians and health care providers to talk about their latest insights and share their best practices.
While in Melbourne, take the time to enjoy the spoils of what has been voted the world’s most liveable city six times in a row. Laze on the banks of the Yarra River, with sweeping views of the city skyline and river and easy access to many local attractions. From the Arts Precinct, where you can take in the iconic Arts Centre Melbourne Spire, you can stroll along Southbank, before getting lost in the city’s famous laneways. Enjoy our world-famous coffee as you do a spot of shopping in the boutiques of Brunswick or Chapel Streets. From the viewing deck of Eureka Tower, take in the historic MCG, or take a tour of Australia’s mighty sporting past. Sample some of the finest wines in the country and explore the picturesque vineyards of the Yarra Valley or Mornington Peninsula. Perhaps pack up a car and take time exploring the renowned Great Ocean Road or Phillip Island.
On behalf of the APSAD Council, Organising Committee and the Scientific Program Committee we hope you are able to join us in Melbourne, Victoria for the 2017 APSAD Scientific Alcohol and Drug Conference.
We look forward to meeting you there.
