Biography

Michelle Raggatt is a research assistant with the Behaviours and Health Risks program at the Burnet Institute. She is currently working on research projects investigating young people’s health including the Sex, Drugs, Rock ‘n’ Roll study, an annual survey of young people’s risk behaviours.

Biography

Dr Ali Cheetham has worked for Monash University (based at Turning Point) since completing her PhD in 2013. Her primary research interests include understanding risk factors for early adolescent substance misuse, and early intervention and prevention against later substance-related harms.

Characteristics and Drug Use among Adolescents Admitted to Residential Treatment

Biography

Georgina Dixson is a 5th year medical student at UNSW who undertook a one year research study examining the characteristics and experiences of young females referred to a drug and alcohol treatment program. She was awarded the People’s Choice Award at the UNSW Paediatric ILP Awards for the presentation of her findings. Dr Patrick Rawstorne is a Senior Lecturer and Director of the Master of International Public Health at UNSW. Patrick has published widely and led HIV survey/biological surveillance projects in the region. He is a Chief Investigator on an ARC Linkage Project examining outcomes for young people following drug and alcohol treatment.

Biography

Ken Pidd is Associate Professor and Deputy Director (Research) at the National Centre for Education and Training on Addiction (NCETA), Flinders University. He has produced numerous publications concerning the workplace and AOD use and has an on-going research and practice interest in this area. He also provides consultancy on this issue to government and non-government bodies, employer and employee groups, and individual employers.
