Biography

Sam McCrabb completed a Bachelor of Psychology at the University of Newcastle in 2013. During this time, Sam also worked as a Research Assistant on numerous smoking cessation projects which aim to help individuals with a mental illness quit smoking. Sam is currently completing a PhD through the University of Newcastle, working on a National Health and Medical Research Council funded smoking cessation program delivered online to help orthopaedic trauma patients quit smoking whilst in hospital.

Shannon is the manager of the suite of Catalyst Therapeutic Day Rehabilitation (TDR) programs delivered by Uniting ReGen. Since the introduction of the TDR model in 2009, Shannon has significantly contributed to the development, delivery, evaluation and expansion of the model.

Biography

Thomas is a PhD candidate at the University of Tasmania. He has previously been employed as a research assistant, working on projects including the Illicit Drug Reporting System (IDRS), Ecstasy and related Drugs Reporting System (EDRS), Young Australians' Alcohol Reporting System (YAARS) and Drug and Alcohol intoxication and Subsequent Harm in night-time Entertainment Districts (DASHED) projects. His research interests include current drug and alcohol trends, substance related harms and harm reduction strategy/policy.

Duncan has experience in science and policy research, government, consulting, and also some clinical AOD counselling. He also has worked for several years as a volunteer in AOD and mental health related community organisations. Most recently he has been studying Honours Psychology and a Masters of Biostatistics through University of Queensland. In his spare time he likes to play guitar and listen to music.

Biography

Jacqueline Bowden is a behavioural scientist who has worked in public health for over 15 years. She is manager of the Population Health Research Group at the South Australian Health and Medical Research Institute in Adelaide, Australia. With a background in psychology and public health, Jacqueline's research focus is in the area of policy and health promotion research, evaluation and monitoring. Her specific research areas of interest are tobacco and alcohol. She is currently a PhD candidate.
