Over-The-Counter Codeine: The End Of An Era, And Preparing For The Changes Ahead

Abstract

Biography

Dr Johnson is a Lecturer in Pharmacy within the School of Pharmacy and Medical Science. Jacqui McCoy is a current PhD Candidate whose research centres on over the counter codeine. Pene Wood is the Pharmacotherapy Clinical Advisor within Western Victoria PHN Pharmacotherapy network, and is undertaking a PhD looking at pharmacotherapy models for opioid addiction. Dr Nielsen is a Senior Research Fellow, based at the National Drug and Alcohol Centre, UNSW. Hester Wilson is GP and Addiction Medicine Specialist. Jacqui McCoy is a psychologist undertaking her research PhD at the University of Tasmania, investigating over-the-counter codeine dependence and the impact of rescheduling codeine to prescription-only medication. She is supervised by Associate Professor Raimondo Bruno (UTAS) and Dr Suzanne Nielsen (UNSW).
