Biography

Dr MacDonald is a Consultation Liaison, Addiction and General Adult Psychiatrist who graduated with First Class Honours and the Geoff Conron Prize in Psychiatry from Monash University. He trained at The Alfred, Melbourne and St Patrick’s Hospital, Dublin. He was an Adjunct Lecturer for Monash University, and is now a Senior Lecturer at Griffith University, Unit Director (Dual Diagnosis) at Currumbin Clinic, committee member for the Queensland Faculty of Addiction Psychiatry, and pursues novel biological approaches to addictive disorders.

Biography

Jason's training and research is based in the field of epidemiology, with a specific focus on clinical epidemiology. Jason has a BSc in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology and a PhD in Pharmacology and Therapeutics, both from the University of British Columbia (Canada). He completed a Postdoctoral Fellowship in Clinical Epidemiology at the University of New South Wales (Australia) where he now remains as a Senior Lecturer. Jason is also a National Health and Medical Research Council Career Development Fellow.

Biography

Dr Kirsten Morley is a Senior Research Fellow at The University of Sydney and Royal Prince Alfred Hospital and part of the NHMRC CRE for Mental Health and Substance Use. She has been first author on 5 randomised controlled trials and is currently chief investigator on 2 NHMRC project grants investigating treatments for alcohol use disorders. Dr Morley was awarded an NHMRC TRIP Fellowship and a NSW Health Translational Research Fellowship for 2017.
