Experience the future of adolescent and young adult (AYA) healthcare.
AAAH Conference delegates are warmly invited to attend a guided site tour of CAYAH, New South Wales’ first purpose-built, cross-precinct AYA health clinic—showcasing a leading model of integrated, youth-centred care in action. Delegates from all professional backgrounds, alongside young people with lived experience, are encouraged to attend.
Located within the Westmead Health Precinct, CAYAH delivers developmentally appropriate outpatient care for young people aged 12–25. Enabled through joint governance between The Children’s Hospital at Westmead and Westmead Hospital, the clinic brings paediatric and adult healthcare together within a single, co-located environment.
CAYAH represents a step-change in how health systems respond to the needs of young people—moving beyond traditional service boundaries to deliver coordinated, multidisciplinary care that reflects the complexity of adolescence and young adulthood.
What this model enables:
- Health care transition across the system, with shared care and joint paediatric–adult clinics
- Holistic, multidisciplinary care, integrating medical, psychosocial and developmental support
- Youth-friendly environments, designed to improve engagement, health literacy and experience
- System-wide integration, reducing fragmentation across specialties and Local Health Districts
- Workforce transformation, strengthening capability in adolescent and young adult health
- Innovation in practice, embedding co-design, research and new models of youth-centred care
As a precinct-based model underpinned by joint governance, CAYAH is emerging as a leading example of how AYA health care can be reimagined at scale, positioning NSW at the forefront of youth health system innovation.
