Steven completed a PhD in molecular microbiology and genomics in 2014, followed by a graduate diploma in biostatistics in 2017. His research focused on the evolution and epidemiology of antibiotic resistant bacteria, before beginning a career in public health as an HIV epidemiologist at HPNSW in 2018.
