Biography

Chris Howard is Executive Programs Manager with Queensland Positive People. Chris is living with HIV for 33 years and worked in Queensland’s HIV sector for 23 years. Chris implemented Australia’s first HIV Peer Navigation program to support those newly diagnosed or at risk of disengaging or falling out of care.

Biography

Dr Allyson Mutch is a Senior Lecturer at The University of Queensland’s School of Public Health. She has extensive experience in conducting research at the interface between health systems and community with a significant focus on the experience of PLHIV. Her research prioritises qualitative methods of inquiry.

Biography

Olivia Hollingdrake is a Registered Nurse, with experience providing care for people living with chronic conditions including HIV, haemophilia and cancer. Currently a PhD candidate at the University of Queensland, School of Public Health, Olivia is using qualitative methods to explore social support networks for recently diagnosed PLHIV in Queensland.

Biography

Aashvin was diagnosed with HIV in his early 20s. Since diagnosis, Aashvin has been engaged with the HIV community, sharing his experiences with others. Aashvin has had to navigate many challenges, from immigration processes as well as dealing with the effects of internalised and externalised stigma as a gay man.

Biography

Dr Belinda D'Costa commenced with SiREN in 2017 as a Research Associate to evaluate the Young Deadly Free project. She has occupied research positions for 10 years, her work has focused on Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander health and wellbeing. Belinda has a PhD in psychology, specialising in community psychology.

Biography

Karen Price has 20 years’ experience in the health sector, in Federal and State Government roles, and the NGO sector. Karen has experience across mental health, aged care, drug and alcohol, and anti-doping in sport. Karen has extensive experience policy and program development; clinical service management; health campaigns; and partnerships. Currently, Karen is the Deputy CEO for ACON – Australia’s largest community-based HIV and LGBTQ health organisation.
