CHINWAG: Positive Connection was a NAPWHA initiative designed to meet the social and support needs of people living with HIV (PLHIV) during the height of COVID-19. Hosted on Zoom by HIV peer and drag superstar Vanessa Wagner, these weekly, one-hour sessions brought PLHIV from around the country together to be supported, entertained, and informed. Over the 12-week program, each CHINWAG featured a special guest from the HIV sector to share insights on things like maintaining good mental health, managing drug and alcohol use, and the latest COVID-19 information.
Returning for one session only during the Australasian HIV AIDS Conference, Vanessa hosts a special lunchtime CHINWAG to give Conference attendees the opportunity to talk directly with HIV Peer Supporters from around the country; Sarah Feagan (Living Positive Victoria), Ruan Uys (Bobby Goldsmith Foundation), Glenn Ryall (Queensland Positive People), and Charlie Tredway (NAPWHA). Join us for a fun and informative hour and hear about health and support delivery viewed through the lens of People Living with HIV.
