SH cross track Symposium: Innovation, Resilience and Sustainability: Changing Times for Reproductive Health and Rights. Includes Closing Remarks by Alexis Apostolellis, CEO, ASHM.
Friday, November 20, 2020 |
4:00 PM - 5:40 PM |
Overview
The world is in uncertain times. The climate change emergency is profoundly affecting reproductive health and rights by reducing access
to services in natural and human-made disasters and increasing vulnerability to chronic and infectious diseases through pollution and
environmental degradation. Innovative approaches to the delivery of reproductive health care, services and information are needed. This session will cover responses to natural and human-made disasters and provide insights for policy and practice that harness novel approaches, build resilient health systems and enable future generations to meet their reproductive health needs.
While this session acknowledges the importance of linking sexual and reproductive health, we will focus on areas of reproductive health (contraception, abortion and reproductive coercion) that have not featured elsewhere in this conference.
