Biography

Peter is Director of the Gay Men’s Sexual Health research group at the University of Auckland. He has a 20 year career in HIV prevention theory, research and policy. Current projects include HIV behavioural and epidemiological surveillance, PrEP, HPV and gonorrhoea vaccines, sexual orientation data collection and illicit drug use.

Dr Skye McGregor is an epidemiologist with over nine years’ experience working in a public health research environment. The focus of her research is the prevention and surveillance of HIV and other sexually transmissible infections.

Biography

Rebecca Guy is a Professor in Epidemiology at the Kirby Institute for infection and immunity in society, Faculty of Medicine, UNSW. She has expertise in surveillance and evaluation of public health interventions related to HIV and sexually transmissible infections. Her research focuses on reducing the impact of HIV sexually transmissible infections (STIs) in vulnerable populations, including implementation and evaluation of point-of-care testing and prevention initiatives to reduce the transmission of HIV and STIs (including HPV) in a range of settings. Her research also focuses on optimising antibiotic treatment of STIs and using diagnostics to improve antibiotic stewardship.

Dr Ishikawa is a coordinator of HIV/hepatitis/STI unit, WHO Regional Office for the Western Pacific. Her responsibilities include provision of coordination and technical support to countries on development of national strategies and implementation of WHO recommendations on HIV, viral hepatitis and STI and elimination of mother-to-child transmission.
