Biography

Dr Darren Russell is the Director of Sexual Health at Cairns Hospital. He is also the Principal Investigator for the Queensland HIV prevention study – ‘QPrEPd’. His interests include Indigenous sexual health, transgender health, and the elimination of Hepatitis C infection and HIV transmissions in Australia.

Biography

Aaron Ken is an Aboriginal man from the Anangu Pitjantjatjara Yankunytjatjara lands in far North West South Australia. For the last decade Aaron has worked in sexual and mental health promotion, throughout Australia with various organisations namely SHINE SA, MindMatters and currently with the Aboriginal Health Council SA.

Biography

Jessica Thomas is a health promotion professional who specialises in working with remote communities and strong evaluation methodologies. A rewarding aspect, both personally and professionally, has been working with Aboriginal people to improve quality of life and health outcomes. She has previously worked with the Royal Flying Doctor Service and is currently working with SAHMRI and completing a PhD.

Biography

Katy Crawford is the Kimberley coordinator of the Young Deadly Free project. Based in Broome, Katy has been working on this project at Kimberley Aboriginal Medical Service since March 2017. Prior to this Katy has worked as an STI Public Health Nurse in the Kimberley coordinating the region’s Syphilis outbreak response.

Biography

Dr Rae-Lin Huang co-ordinates the STI control program for Nganampa Health Council. She is a Fellow of the RACGP and Australasian Faculty of Public Health Medicine. Dr Huang has extensive experience in the design and delivery of successful STI and blood-borne virus control programs in remote communities and is an AI with the CRE in Aboriginal Sexual Health and BBVs.
