This session will explore current topical and controversial issues in Clinical Sexual Health Medicine. The learning objectives of the sesion are to explore: 1. How should we be treating NGU and MG infections based on current evidence 2. Be aware of potential treatment combinations to treat gonorrhoea when ceftriaxone cannot be used & develop an understanding of the limited drug pipeline for future gonorrhoea treatment 3. Know who to test for LGV based on current research and knowledge 4. Gain a greater understanding of older populations who may benefit from HPV vaccination

Associate Professor Dave Templeton is Senior Staff Specialist and Clinical Services Manager at RPA Sexual Health. He has been working in the field of Sexual Health Medicine for almost 20 years and completed his PhD on STI & HIV epidemiology 10 years ago.

David is Director of Western Sydney Sexual Health Centre and Professor at the University of Sydney. David’s research interests focus on gonorrhoea and STI care in resource-poor settings. He is Immediate President of the International Union against STIs. He frequently assists the WHO with several international initiatives including STI guideline development.
