Biography

Julie Hamblin is a consultant in the Health Group of HWL Ebsworth. She has more than 25 years experience advising the public and private health sectors on health law, medical negligence, clinical risk, bioethics and public health. She currently serves on the NSW Clinical Ethics Advisory Panel and the Australian Research Integrity Committee, and has held several other Government appointments in the health sector, including the Australian National Council on HIV/AIDS and Related Diseases, and the board of the former Central Sydney Area Health Service

Biography

Deborah Bateson is the Medical Director of Family Planning NSW and worked previously as the Global Medical Director for Marie Stopes International overseeing the delivery of safe abortion services around the world. She is the current Australasian board member for the International Federation of Professional Abortion and Contraception Associates (FIAPAC) and is committed to improving access to high quality reproductive and sexual health services for women locally and globally.

Biography

Associate Professor Belton taught qualitative research methods and sexual and reproductive health to postgraduate students at Charles Darwin University. She is an active researcher in Indigenous health (Rheumatic Heart Disease) at Menzies School of Health Research and has conducted research in Australia, Thailand and East Timor on fertility management and abortion. Dr Belton is currently Chair of the Board of Family Planning Welfare Association NT, executive member of the Health Providers Alliance NT and the Public Health Association NT and the past representative to International Planned Parenthood Federation Asia Pacific region.

Biography

Professor Danielle Mazza is the Head of the Department of General Practice at Monash University. Her major interest is in translational research, with particular focus on closing evidence practice gaps in preventive care, women's sexual and reproductive health, and cancer screening and guideline development and implementation using patient-based strategies. Danielle has forged strong links with academic and non-academic health care providers. Her relationship with the Inner East Melbourne Medicare Local has led to the establishment of Melbourne East MonAsh GeNeral PracticE DaTabase (MAGNET) a research platform which utilises a unique general practice dataset to generate evidence to inform policy and practice.

Biography

Dr Paddy Moore is currently the Head of Unit of abortion and family planning services at the Royal Women’s Hospital and Austin Health. She also holds a position as a sessional gynaecologist at the Royal Children’s Hospital and a Board member of Family Planning Victoria. Paddy is a past chair of and served on the RANZCOG regional committee. Dr Moore is a New Zealand medical school graduate who undertook her post graduate Obstetrics and Gynaecology training in NZ, Scotland and latterly Melbourne.

Distinguished Professor Elizabeth Sullivan is a public health physician with over 25 years' experience as a medical epidemiologist, specialising in the fields of sexual and reproductive health. She is a current member of the NHMRC Council. She is also the Chair of the UTS SAT for the Science in Australia Gender Equity (SAGE) National Pilot of Athena SWAN in Australia; and is committed to the advancement of gender equality in academia, by addressing unequal gender representation and empowering women across academic disciplines. She has a strong commitment to social justice and leads an innovative program of population health and health services research that focuses on vulnerable reproductive populations.
