Biography

Rebecca Guy is an Associate Professor and Program Head with the Surveillance Evaluation and Research Program in the Kirby Institute for infection and immunity in society, Faculty of Medicine, UNSW. She is an epidemiologist with expertise in surveillance and public health interventions related to HIV and sexually transmissible infections . Her research focuses on reducing the impact of sexually transmissible infections (STIs) in vulnerable populations, including implementation and evaluation of testing, point-of-care testing and treatment interventions to prevent transmission of HIV and STIs in a range of settings.

Biography

Dr Jin is a senior lecturer at the Kirby Institute, University of New South Wales, with research interests including infection-related cancer prevention in high-risk populations. Stefanie is currently undertaking a PhD at the Kirby Institute. The focus of her research is on adherence to PrEP and associated HIV risk behaviours. She is also the behavioural data manager for over 6000 people on the EPIC-NSW study. After completing a Bachelor of Psychology with honours, Mo Hammoud commenced his PhD at the Kirby Institute where he is investigating how subcultural affiliation and peer-norms influence drug-use and HIV risk behaviours. Mo is also employed by the Kirby Institute where he works on the Flux Study and the EPIC-NSW study.

A/Professor Garrett Prestage has been involved in gay community research and advocacy since the 1970s. He has investigated HIV behavioural risk through multiple studies of gay men’s sexual health, since the 1980s. He has strong relationships with gay community organisations and his work informs policy and programmatic responses.
