Cass is a PhD student at the Centre for Alcohol Policy Research, La Trobe University. Cass is working on the Alcohol's Harm to Others project, with her PhD looking at harm to children from caregivers' drinking and Australian public policy interventions focused on promoting the health and wellbeing of children.

She leads several NHMRC and MRFF funded national trials as CIA and wrote the national guidelines for alcohol pharmacotherapy.
