Biography

Dr Katinka van de Ven is a Senior Lecturer at the Centre for Rural Criminology, UNE, and a Visiting Fellow at the Drug Policy Modelling Program, UNSW. She is the Editor-in-Chief of Performance Enhancement & Health and the Director of the Human Enhancement Drugs Network (HEDN).

Dr Yarbakhsh is ATODA’s Workplace Development and Research Officer. She has a background in social anthropology and obtained a PhD from the Australian National University in 2017. Dr Yarbakhsh has undertaken policy-relevant research in Australia and overseas and has published widely in the disciplines of Anthropology, Indigenous Studies and Communication.

With a 25 year career spanning the Tasmanian private, public and not-for-profit sectors, Alison’s focus at the ATDC has been on establishing an independent organisation representing people with a lived experience of drug use, increasing funding for services, improving data access and addressing community stigma towards Tasmanians who use drugs.
