Hepatitis C in Primary Care and Drug and Alcohol Settings Workshop

The course is designed to strengthen the capacity of clinical staff working in primary care and drug and alcohol settings who work with people who inject drugs to effectively test for, treat and manage hepatitis C. The online learning and face-to-face workshop delivered by local experts will give participants the skills to confidently prescribe the new direct acting antivirals (DAA).

Through practical, interactive case discussions and presentations, you will be able to:
• Describe the risk factors for HCV injection, enabling effective practice screening processes and prevention education
• Demonstrate competence interpreting clinical information to effectively diagnose HCV
• Demonstrate competence in liver disease assessment
• Assessing liver disease severity and non-invasive tools for liver disease assessment
• Demonstrate understanding of DAA therapy for the treatment of HCV and competence in selecting and prescribing appropriate therapy
• Monitor patients on treatment and posttreatment appropriately

Cost:
The workshop is free to attend and refreshments will be provided.
