Deadly Sex Congress 2023



Eligibility Criteria 


The eligibility criteria for attendance at the Deadly Sex Congress 2023 are as follows.

In the following order preference will be given to: 

  • An Aboriginal and/ or Torres Strait Islander Sexual Health Worker/ Blood Borne Viruses or Indigenous Sexual Health/ Blood Borne Viruses Worker whose primary role is to deliver sexual health services and programs
  • A Generalist Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Health Worker who can demonstrate that they perform sexual health/ Blood Borne Viruses duties as part of their generalist work
  • Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander community worker, project, health promotion and/ or support officer in the following sectors (NGO):
    1. HIV/ AIDS
    2. Viral Hepatitis
    3. Injecting Drug Use
    4. Sexual and Reproductive Health
    5. An Aboriginal and or Torres Strait Islander person currently working in Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander Health sector with imminent plans to move into Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander sexual health/ Blood Borne Viruses service delivery i.e. within 12 months


PLEASE NOTE:  Eligibility is at the discretion of the Deadly Sex Organising Committee with the Chairperson holding a deliberate and casting vote.

Application

The Deadly Sex Organising Committee will review your application to attend the congress. Eligibility is at the discretion of the Committee. Please complete the registration form as fully as possible.

Image Consent

I grant permission and give my consent to ASHM/Deadly Sex Congress Organising Committee for the use of photographs or electronic media images from the Congress to be used including for social media, advertising or other media activities. I understand that I may revoke this authorization at any time by notifying education@ashm.org.au in writing. The revocation will not affect any actions taken before the receipt of this written notification. Images will be stored in a secure location and only authorized staff will have access to them. They will be kept as long as they are relevant and after that time destroyed or archived.


Networking sharing consent

To strengthen working relationships, a network details list will be made available after the Congress. This list will only be shared with delegates that attend and opt-in. Delegates who do not attend will not receive the contact listing.

Accommodation

Accommodation is available to Congress delegates, where there is no charge to delegates. All accommodations requests will be reviewed by the Deadly Sex Organising Committee. ASHM will advise if the request is successful or declined.

Up to two nights accommodation will be provided for delegates at no charge upon registration approval.  All other travel arrangements will need to be coordinated by the delegate and their organisation.

Note: When checking in, hotel guests will be required to provide either a credit card authorization or $100.00 per night refundable cash bond for any incidental charges which may be incurred during their stay, eg telephone calls, mini bar etc.
