APSAD 2026 Scholarship Profile Creation

We are pleased to be able to offer a number of scholarship opportunities available to attend the APSAD 2026. We will be offering several full and partial scholarships for First Peoples, community workers, people with lived experience, peer workers, researchers, practitioners, program workers, and policymakers.

DEADLINE: The deadline for all scholarship applications is 11:59pm AWST 27 April 2026.

Before applying, please ensure you have read the selection criteria.

2026 Scholarship Categories

  • First Peoples Scholarships
    • Aboriginal, Torres Strait Islander, Māori, and/or Pasifika people working in the alcohol and other drugs field, and employees/volunteers of Aboriginal Community Controlled Health Organisations.
  • Student and Early Career Researcher Scholarships
    • Students and early career researchers.
  • Frontline Worker Scholarships
    • For frontline workers and non-medical clinicians working in the alcohol and other drugs field. This includes nurses, social workers, pharmacists, needle and syringe program workers, counsellors, peer workers, etc.
  • Community Scholarships
    • Scholarships are available for employees and volunteers of drug-user organisations, non-government organisations, not-for-profit community organisations, and community and remote health centres.

Scholarship inclusions:

  • A face-to-face scholarship can include conference registration, return economy class flights and accommodation. 

Terms and Conditions:

  • All applicants must complete the application form truthfully and advise APSAD if their situation changes.

You are not eligible for scholarship if you have any of the following: 

  • Funds from a research grant to cover attendance at this meeting  
  • Access to professional development funds available through your employer, such as health department and/or university funds  
  • Funding from a pharmaceutical or other industry partners  
  • Financial support through a research grant
