Western Sydney Local Health Districts Youth Health Service are a free, community-based health service in that supports young people aged 12–24 years. It is part of the Western Sydney Local Health District – Integrated and community health and focuses on improving the overall wellbeing of young people.
The service provides a broad range of services, including counselling, mental health and wellbeing support, sexual health, physical health care, and help with issues such as alcohol and drug use, nutrition, and general wellbeing. Services are targeted at young people who may be vulnerable, disadvantaged, or at risk, offering early intervention and prevention-focused care.
A key feature of the service is its accessibility - young people can self-refer or be referred by parents, teachers, GPs, or other support services, and services are free, with no Medicare card required in many cases.
The Parramatta service (HSYHS) is located at 65 High Street, the service operates on weekdays and provides a supportive, youth-friendly environment where clients can receive confidential and holistic care tailored to their needs. Overall, it plays an important role in supporting the health and development of young people in Western Sydney.
