Details

Developed and delivered by young people from the ChIPS program in Melbourne, this workshop will help participants work more confidently with young people. Already piloted and successfully delivered to RCH Allied Health staff the young people speak from personal experience and provide a simple guideline for health care professionals to use when working with teenagers and young adults. Participants will have the opportunity to put their new knowledge into action through engaging case studies and role play opportunities. The workshop is an active demonstration of youth participation and the opportunity that exists for young people to provide professional development in healthcare settings. Learning Objectives: - For healthcare professionals to feel more confident working with teenagers and young adults. - For young people to feel welcomed, involved, heard, understood and empowered by their health care professionals. - Consider how youth participation and lived experience could be incorporated into different healthcare settings.
