Born with several medical conditions – Ehlers Danlos Syndrome (EDS) & Developmental Hip Dysplasia among them, all undiagnosed until young adulthood; Claire is delighted to bring her experience of AYA patient life to help shape better, warmer, health care for young people.

Professor Nikhil Thapar is Director of Gastroenterology, Hepatology and Liver Transplant at Queensland Children’s Hospital, Brisbane, leading a specialist clinical service for children with gastrointestinal motility and functional disorders. He has published widely and is co-editor of the textbook of Paediatric Neurogastroenterology and Journal of Pediatric Gastroenterology and Nutrition. He chairs the paediatric faculty of the Gastroenterology Society of Australia and Neurogastroenterology and Motility working group of the Asia Pan-Pacific Society of Paediatric Gastroenterology, Hepatology and Nutrition. He sits on the Rome V committee, the international body for the diagnosis and clinical management of disorders of gut brain interaction.

She is consultant for Society of Adolescent Health & Medicine’s Eating Disorder Committee, and member of SAHM’s National Eating Disorder Quality Improvement Collaborative and ARFID Collaborative.
