12:30pm – 1:20pm How to use social media for advocacy
A panel discussion that includes young people who have used social media to advocate for health care, share their stories and connect with others. This focus will focus on how young people can use social media for good while telling their story in a safe way and maintain their privacy (e.g. not feeling pressured to share medical information and diagnoses). This is an opportunity to learn tangible skills to use on social media such as appropriate content, how to network, etc.
