We’re told academia and professional life is cutthroat and highly competitive, but what if we told you it didn’t need to be, and that building a successful career is really a team sport? If you are a young professional looking to build an inclusive peer network in your workplace or institute, or a senior leader looking to support early career researchers in your team – then this workshop is for you!
Delivered by the Emerging Leaders Network and Youth Advocates from the Centre for Adolescent Health in Melbourne, this workshop aims to help create connections for future leaders by working interactively to identify 3 key actions for supporting emerging leaders in your institution.
Learning Objectives:
1. To discuss the background and funding mechanism for our Emerging Leaders Network: a peer-led professional development network.
2. To identify the needs of young researchers’ professional development in participants’ home
institution for supporting emerging leaders in adolescent health.
3. To identify 3 actions for extending, improving, or creating peer-led or peer-to-peer professional development networks to support emerging leaders in your institution.
