Thomas Rudge is a PhD Candidate in the Viral Hepatitis Clinical Research Program at the Kirby Institute, UNSW. His background in development studies informs an equity-focused approach to understanding the factors shaping healthcare access. Using implementation science, his research enhances the adoption, scale-up, and sustainability of hepatitis C testing and treatment.

Annabelle Stevens is the Manager of the Hepatitis Programs and Policy Unit at NSW Health overseeing development and implementation of hepatitis B and C strategies. She is also a PhD candidate at the Kirby Institute evaluating hepatitis C testing strategies in Australia focusing on improving diagnosis linkage to care and elimination of hepatitis C nationally.

Amy Muffarotto is a Nurse Practitioner with St Vincent's Hospital Melbourne's statewide hepatitis program, where she has provided specialist care for people living with viral hepatitis in Victorian correctional settings since 2018. Her correctional health experience has shaped her commitment to improving equitable access to care and advancing hepatitis elimination for people experiencing vulnerability and marginalisation.

Julie is an ‘essential NPC’ and outreach clinician within a peer-based harm-reduction service, providing BBV, sexual health and opportunistic primary care across metropolitan and regional communities. Her work centres on care that adapts to people, not people to systems, driven by a passion for equity and questionable amounts of coffee.

Adam is a Hepatology Nurse Practitioner working at Royal Perth Hospital and within the community. With a focus on building capacity within primary care, he is passionate about reimagining approaches to viral hepatitis management and models of care, particularly for marginalised communities facing ongoing stigma and health inequity.

Grace Hogan is the Communications and Partnerships Manager at Hepatitis Australia, with 10 years’ experience supporting public health across community and government settings. She brings expertise in strategic communications, stakeholder engagement, policy development, and government relations, underpinned by a deep commitment to inclusive community engagement. Grace’s understanding of community research and engagement is strengthened by her qualifications in anthropology and sociology.

As a lived-experience peer worker at PBHRWA for ten years, Peta has designed and implemented peer-education projects and worked in mobile health clinics. Currently, Peta’s main roles are Overdose Prevention, Communication, and Reporting, however she continues to work in peer-education, delivers workforce development training to other agencies and guest lectures to universities.

A/Prof Thomas Tu leads the Hepatitis B research group at the Westmead Institute for Medical Research and is a world leader Hepatitis B virology. Drawing on lived experience of hepatitis B, he is committed to translational research that improves outcomes for affected communities.

Dr Marisa Gilles is a Public Health Physician and Director of Public Health Medicine at WA Country Health Service. With 30 years’ rural experience, extensive work with Aboriginal communities, and strong epidemiology, research and data skills, she has published 32 papers and champions partnership approaches to reduce rural–metropolitan health inequities.

Rebecca is the CEO of HepatitisWA, and a member of the Hepatitis Australia Board. She brings over 20 years’ experience in the for-purpose health sector in both executive and board director roles, including positions at Sexual Health Quarters, Health Consumers’ Council WA and the Centre for Women’s Safety and Wellbeing.

Professor Benjamin Cowie is an infectious diseases physician and epidemiologist, with appointments at the Royal Melbourne Hospital and the Doherty Institute. He is a Professorial Fellow in the Department of Infectious Diseases, the University of Melbourne. In 2015, Ben was named the inaugural Director of the WHO Collaborating Centre for Viral Hepatitis at the Doherty Institute.
