Marrianne Black RN has been working at ECCQ for 4 1/2 years as the Community Management and Treatment Coordinator for Viral Hepatitis. The Program provides Fibroscan and education to CALD community members, referred by GPs and diagnosed with viral hepatitis, and education and support to GPs in South East Queensland.

Prof Jane Davies MBBS MRCP(UK) DTM&H FRACP PhD Co-Director Infectious Diseases Royal Darwin Hospital Principal Research Fellow Menzies School of Health Research Prof Jane Davies is a Senior Principal Research Fellow at the Menzies School of Health Research and Co-Director of Infectious Diseases at Royal Darwin Hospital. Her research focuses on Hepatitis B spanning molecular and clinical epidemiology as well as implementation of holistic and sustainable clinical care.

With a focus on building capacity within primary care, he is passionate about reimagining approaches to viral hepatitis management and models of care, particularly for marginalised communities facing ongoing stigma and health inequity.

Biography

Dr Littlejohn is currently leading a project to develop a new RNA-based therapy for chronic hepatitis B, using CRISPR technology. She is an expert in HBV molecular virology and the role of HBV genotypes in pathogenesis and treatment response. She is also involved in a long term collaboration examining the molecular epidemiology of HBV in Indigenous Australian populations.

Biography

Prof. Alexander J. Thompson, MBBS/PhD/FRACP, is Professor-Director of Gastroenterology at St Vincent’s Hospital Melbourne and the University of Melbourne, Australia. He is also Honorary Adjunct Assistant Professor of Gastroenterology at Duke University Medical Center (USA). Prof. Thompson currently serves as President and Board Member of the Gastroenterological Society of Australia (GESA) and previously served on the Executive Council of the Asian Pacific Association for the Study of the Liver (APASL). He is internationally recognized for his contributions to viral hepatitis research, liver disease management, and HCC prevention.

Biography

A/Professor Behzad Hajarizadeh is a clinical epidemiologist and an NHMRC Emerging Leadership Fellow in the Kirby Institute (UNSW). His main areas of research include epidemiology and clinical management of viral hepatitis, particularly in prison, and among people who inject drugs culturally and linguistically diverse communities.
