Nigel is the state-wide coordinator of the NSW HIV and Hepatitis C Dried Blood Spot (DBS) Project. He has coordinated this observational study for approximately 7 years and is in the process of assisting the transition of DBS testing for hepatitis C from research in routine clinical care across NSW.

John is a Policy Analyst at Hepatitis Australia, having worked in the hepatitis community since 2012. Before that he had government roles in Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander health policy and alcohol and other drug policy.

Rebecca is a public health researcher and Deputy Head of Justice Health at Burnet Institute. Her work focuses on improving health outcomes for people involved in the criminal legal system, particularly at the intersection of alcohol and other drug use, infectious diseases and health systems reform. She leads and collaborates on major national studies focused on hepatitis C elimination, prison health and transitional care, with a strong emphasis on equity, lived experience and real-world implementation.

Xianping Guo has spent the past nine years working to improve the lives of people affected by viral hepatitis, advanced liver disease, and liver cancer at WSLHD. She is passionate about finding practical solutions that make a real difference for individuals, families, and communities. Xianping believes that by working together—with healthcare professionals, communities, and people with lived experience—we can eventually conquer viral hepatitis. She is inspired every day by the resilience of the people she works with and remains committed to creating a future where viral hepatitis is no longer a public health threat.

Grace Hogan is the Communications and Partnerships Manager at Hepatitis Australia, with 10 years’ experience supporting public health across community and government settings. She brings expertise in strategic communications, stakeholder engagement, policy development, and government relations, underpinned by a deep commitment to inclusive community engagement. Grace’s understanding of community research and engagement is strengthened by her qualifications in anthropology and sociology.

Prof Jess Howell is a gastroenterologist, NHMRC principal research fellow and Head of the Hepatitis B and Liver Cancer working group at Burnet Institute and honorary Professorial Fellow in the Department of Medicine, University of Melbourne.

Tracey has held many roles in the viral Hepatitis sector including founding President of the Australasian Hepatology Association; Clinical Nursing Educator for ASHM; member of the Hep NSW Board of Governance. Tracey was the first Hepatology Nurse Practitioner in NSW, endorsed in 2007 and currently works for Justice Health NSW.

Ali Lori is the Clinic Coordinator and HepLink Project Lead at HepatitisWA. With over a decade of experience, Ali has contributed in diverse capacities, including facilitating the Hip Hop program within WA prisons, NSP and volunteer coordination, and Hepatitis B program delivery with CaLD communities. For the past six years, Ali has specialised in clinical service delivery.

I am a postdoctoral scientist, with an interest in viral whole genome sequencing and metagenomic approaches. I completed my PhD from UWA in 2021 and have worked at the Kirby since 2025 on the H2Seq initiative, working on optimising HCV whole genome sequencing methods for wider implementation

Georgia is a Hepatology Clinical Nurse Consultant on the 'C No More' mobile hepatitis C van; a nurse and peer partnership targeting community corrections populations across Melbourne. She has a background in homeless health, HIV and emergency nursing and has worked in remote and regional areas across Australia.

Alain is a health promotion officer at LiverWELL. who leads LiverWELL's Awareness Raising and Prevention portfolio and drives LiverWELLs approaches to youth and CALD community engagement. His interests include equitable access and health promotion for vulnerable and disadvantaged communities. Alain is also on the board of NEWGENs.

Joseph joined Hepatitis ACT in 2025 with over a decade of nursing experience in haematology/oncology. He has worked with Australian Red Cross Lifeblood and NHSBT in London, supporting transfusion care. After relocating to Canberra in 2023, Joe developed a strong interest in community health and supporting people affected by hepatitis.

Lana has worked in the BBV space for 20 years across a range of organisations, including ASHM, Hepatitis Queensland and NTAHC. She is passionate about finding creative solutions to barriers that impact those most in need of education and advovacy around HBV and HCV particularly in the corrections space.

I am a Consultant Venereologist and a public health specialist and serves as the Monitoring & Evaluation specialist for the GFATM Local funding agency - Deloitte Sri Lanka. I also serve as the chairperson of the AIDS Foundation Sri Lanka the only non profit organization to support people with HIV.

Esha Leyden is a Peer Harm Reduction Worker at QuIHN (Queensland Injectors Health Network.) And also, a AIVL (Australian Injecting and Illicit Drug Users League) Vise President Esha has worked in the drug sector for the past 13 years and has been a member of the drug-using community for the past 38 years. Esha has lived experience in a hepatitis C and treatment, Justice and custodial setting, and injecting drugs use, which allows her to understand the challenges and stigma/ Discrimination faced by the community and their ongoing needs. Esha has been a part of many forums, symposiums and committees and presenting at various state and national conferences on my lived experience and advocated for people who inject drugs. Esha was one of the main people and the Queensland Rep for the ‘IT’S YOUR RIGHT’ National peer health Campaign for Hepatitis C.

She brings extensive experience in policy advocacy, strategic communications, and social and behaviour change programming across global health and within Australia. Before joining Hepatitis Australia, Ashma worked with UN Women and UNICEF in South Asia, the Middle East, and Africa.

Emily Skillin is a Program Manager at Hepatitis Australia, supporting delivery of the HepLink program in partnership with the eight state/territory community hepatitis organisations. She brings broad experience in health policy and program development, with a background in pharmaceutical policy, economic evaluation, medical research strategy, grant funding, and clinical trials.

Yodith Tekabe is a Mental Health and Alcohol and Other Drugs Nurse Practitioner and Credentialled Mental Health Nurse at the Hamilton Centre, Austin Health. She has experience across community and forensic settings, with expertise in dual diagnosis, ADHD assessment, integrated care, and improving access to viral hepatitis screening and treatment.

Anna Mathews is a first year PhD student investigating immune dysregulation in chronic Hepatitis B, with a focus on natural killer cell phenotypes and receptor expression.
