Al Riyami is a final-year nursing student at the College of Nursing, Sultan Qaboos University, Oman. His graduation project focused on assessing the knowledge, attitudes, practices, and educational needs related to caring for patients with Hepatitis B and C among healthcare students.

Lisa and Grace are Clinical Nurses working in the AODS sector, with a Case manager of up to 50 clients with multiple substance issues as well as running a Hepatitis C Clinics and performing POCT tests.

Cherie is a passionate healthcare professional and educator who has been working in the HIV, Sexual Health, and Viral Hepatitis sector for over a decade. Her portfolio of work spans a range of government, non-government, research, and healthcare settings.

Marrianne is an RN working in the Love Health Program at the Ethnic Communities Council of Queensland for over 7 years. She works closely with bi-lingual community health workers supporting CALD communities, providing Fibroscan to, and assisting patients and GPs for management and treatment of viral hepatitis.

Sara works in the Blood Borne Viruses laboratory at the Victorian Infectious Diseases Reference Laboratory. She performs diagnostic testing and research in Hepatitis, HIV, and transplant related viruses, and has a keen interest in public health.

Dr Campbell is a Public Health Physician working with Aboriginal people and organisations to strengthen the cultural capability and responsiveness of the health system. John Didlick is a Policy Analyst at Hepatitis Australia, progressing national action on issues of importance to people living with hepatitis B and hepatitis C.

Maia is a Kamilaroi/ Tu hoe man, born on Darug land, raised on Gadigal/ Bidjigal land. Maia is the Project Officer for Aboriginal Community Engagement from Hepatitis NSW, he assists in programs for Aboriginal people in the metropolitan, regional, remote areas of New South Wales with Hep B and C.

Reena D'Souza has extensive experience in strategic planning, partnership development, and project management (including development, delivery coordination and evaluation) in the blood borne viruses sector. They are a strong advocate for improving access to health services and reducing stigma and discrimination among affected and vulnerable populations

Emily Ebdon is the Campaigns & Capacity Building Lead at AIVL. Emily is a fine artist, receiving a Bachelor of Fine Art in 2007. Emily has a 20 year career in frontline harm reduction and hep C and hep B projects. She is a passionate Narcofeminist and believes in peer-leadership.

Sav Gollapally, Programs Manager at Hepatitis ACT, holds a PharmD, MBA, MPH, and an Advanced Diploma in Program & Project Management. His diverse expertise in healthcare, business, and leadership fosters the expansion of hepatitis programs and innovative solutions, improving liver health outcomes in the ACT.

Dorrit Grimstrup works as Prison Transition Coordinator for QuIHN, started working as harm reduction worker back 2016. Since 2019 she has developed and implemented prison transition service that is covering whole QLD state. Dorrit was educated as RN in Denmark

Leah previously worked in Melbourne in a variety of harm reduction, hepatitis C, and community outreach roles. She returned to New Zealand in 2014 and continued working within the harm reduction and hepatitis C field at the Rodger Wright Community Clinic.

Dr Hui is an Infectious Diseases physician with special interest in viral hepatitis. He has been running the Fiona Stanley Hospital Hepatitis Clinic in collaboration with hepatologist colleagues since 2015. He has conducted education for advanced trainees and general practitioners in this field, the latter through ASHM.

Zak is a third year PhD student from the Peter Doherty Institute for Infection and Immunity at the University of Melbourne. Zak joined the Revill/Littlejohn Lab in 2022 researching CRISPR/Cas9 and HBV. Zak completed his Honours degree in 2022 and has continued studying with the Revill/Littlejohn Lab.

Richard has over 25 years in community services, starting in HIV care, and then in Needle and Syringe Programs, He is a Master-Trainer in Chronic Disease Self-management and has worked at NSW Health during COVID-19. Currently, the National BBV Programs & Operations Lead at AIVL, living with HIV and previously Hepatitis C.

Innovation & Inclusivity Lead at AIVL, driving creativity and health equity, empowering people who use drugs to shape holistic and inclusive health spaces.  Fostering inclusivity, engaging networks, and implementing initiatives that amplify voices of living and lived experience, enhancing community engagement, and supporting AIVL’s mission through innovative developments and inclusivity.

Michelle is the Programs Director at Hepatitis Australia. She brings decades of experience leading community responses in viral hepatitis, alcohol and other drugs and Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander health, as well as significant experience in design and commissioning of services through Primary Health Networks in Australia.

Chloe is a Hepatology Clinical Nurse consultant with the Statewide Hepatitis Program at St Vincent's Hospital in Melbourne

Nicole Matthews is the Research Coordinator for the Connect C project at Burnet Institute, working with health authorities and communities to improve hepatitis C notifications systems. She previously led the CHECCS project, integrating health data into the Victorian Surveillance system. Nicole is passionate about health design and community-driven change.

Dina is a Master of Public Health graduate. She is currently working as a Research Assistant in the Viral Hepatitis Elimination working group at the Burnet Institute. She is also undertaking a PhD degree focusing on public health interventions to reduce deaths from hepatitis B-related liver cancer.

Willis Ng is a Hepatitis B Project Officer at Hepatitis NSW, specializing in community engagement and point-of-care testing for hepatitis B in migrant populations. With a background in biomedical science, he is dedicated to advancing Australia’s progress toward hepatitis B elimination through collaboration and culturally informed healthcare solutions.

Alain is a health promotion officer at LiverWELL. who leads LiverWELL's Awareness Raising and Prevention portfolio and drives LiverWELLs approaches to youth and CALD community engagement. His interests include equitable access and health promotion for vulnerable and disadvantaged communities. Alain is also on the board of NEWGENs.

Emily (she/her) is a proud Yamatji woman and PhD candidate at the UQ School of Public Health and has worked as research coordinator on a Queensland Sexual Health Research Fund harm reduction project.

Laura Potts is a Registered Nurse who works in the Medically Supervised Injecting Room, including in its blood borne virus clinic.

Pam Sharpe is a Harm Reduction Nurse at the Rodger Wright Community Clinic, the first harm reduction nurses in Aotearoa. With experience in community nursing, she is dedicated to improving access to HVC testing and treatment for people who use drugs. Her work focuses on outreach, engagement, and harm reduction.

Dr Shih is a health economist with demonstrated expertise in economic evaluation and health service research. She has extensive knowledge and skills of designing and implementing trial-based economic assessments, performing economic evaluations, and building economic models. Her current research focuses on point-of-care testing for HCV and HIV.

Nikrant Shrestha is a Health Education/Project Officer at the Harm Reduction Program,Sydney Local Health District, specializing in Hepatitis C (HCV).With expertise in blood-borne virus initiatives, he has played a key role in implementing DBS and POCT testing, improving access to HCV testing and early diagnosis for people who inject drugs

Sarah is the Manager of the Sexual Health & Blood Borne Viruses Projects Team in South Eastern Sydney Local Health District. Over the past 17 years Sarah has held various leadership, health promotion and clinical roles within the HIV, sexual health and viral hepatitis sector.

A/Professor Tu(WIMR) leads a research group focusing on developing HBV cure and mitigating HCC. He also lives with CHB, providing him with unique perspectives as a researcher, patient & advocate. He established HepBCommunity.org and Hepatitis B Voices Australia, Australia’s 1st community group led entirely by people affected by hepatitis B.

A/Prof Thomas Tu is a molecular biologist at the Westmead Institute for Medical Research. He also lives with chronic Hepatitis B. He established the online support forum HepBCommunity.org and Hepatitis B Voices Australia, Australia’s first advocacy group led by the HBV-affected community.

Jana Van der Jagt is a hepatology nurse practitioner on the Mid-North Coast of NSW. She has worked in hepatology for over 18 years, including in her consultancy services for healthcare education. Jana has a particular interest in advanced liver disease and the development of responsive models of care.

Dr Pia Walters-Giummarra is a Senior Medical Lead-Hepatology at GSK Australia. She holds a PhD -(Medicine-Pharmacology), Monash University, BSc (Hons) Monash University. PWG is presenting on behalf of the authors. This abstract was originally presented at APASL 2025, Beijing, China, 27-30 March.
