Biography
Shannon is a Research Assistant at Burnet Institute. Her primary work is within the Health Promotion and Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Health Strategy components of the EC Australia Partnership, where she has supported the development, implementation, and evaluation of national hepatitis C health promotion campaigns alongside key partners.

Practical solutions for hepatitis C treatment uptake
Biography
Professor Margaret Hellard AM was appointed Deputy Director of the Burnet Institute in March 2017, prior to this appointment she was Head, Centre for Population Health from 2002-2017. She is Head of Hepatitis Services in the Infectious Diseases Unit at The Alfred Hospital.
Margaret's principal research interests are in eliminating HIV, HCV and HBV as public health threats by 2030 by reducing the risk behaviours associated with the transmission of these diseases and improving the management of individuals who already have infection. She has considerable experience in undertaking community-based research involving young people, people who inject drugs, gay and bisexual men, and vulnerable populations. Furthermore, Margaret has supported the development of and works closely with research groups at the Burnet in sexual health, drugs and alcohol, malaria and tuberculosis.
In 2020 Margaret has also undertaken research related to the impact of COVID-19, and the unintended consequence of Government restrictions due to COVID-19 on the community.

A/Prof Hajarizadeh trained as a Medical Practitioner and has a Masters in Public Health and PhD in Medicine (Clinical Epidemiology). His main area of expertise is viral hepatitis with more than 15 years experience as a clinician and then researcher in the field of liver diseases.

Biography
Anju has been working at the HIV and Related Programs in Western Sydney LHD for over five years. Prior to this, Anju worked at Multicultural Health Services within the portfolio of refugee and community partnerships. She is currently a PhD student at University of Sydney researching on adolescents sexuality education.

Biography
Caitlin is a senior research officer at the Burnet Institute in the implementation science working group. She has experience conducting studies with people who inject drugs and young people. Currently she works on projects that focus on hepatitis C testing and treatment and co-designing interventions to reduce stigma in healthcare.

Biography
Reena D'Souza has extensive experience in strategic planning, partnership development, and project management (including development, delivery coordination and evaluation) in the blood borne viruses sector. They are a strong advocate for improving access to health services and reducing stigma and discrimination among affected and vulnerable populations.

Biography
Dr Amy Kwon is a mathematician at Kirby Institute. Her research involves the development of mathematical models to understand the epidemiology of HCV and predict the impact and cost-effectiveness of interventions. She is responsible for providing the key HCV estimates of prevalence and HCV-attributed disease for Australia's Annual Surveillance Report.
