Christy Newman (they/them) is Professor at the Centre for Social Research in Health at UNSW, and has worked in partnership with community, government, and clinical services for almost two decades to understand the social dimensions of bloodborne viruses, sexual and reproductive health, and queer, bi+ and trans health and wellbeing.

Dr Jacqueline Coombe is a Research Fellow, working on a NHMRC Partnership Grant which aims to develop a model for strengthening chlamydia case management in general practice. She has extensive expertise in conducting qualitative research, particularly regarding experiences engaging with the healthcare system to access sexual and reproductive healthcare.

Biography

Kat’s longstanding dedication to sexual health has seen them work experience in peer-led organisations across Aboriginal Community Control, HIV and youth organisations around Australia for over 15 years. They are currently completing a Graduate Diploma of Sexology at Curtin University and continue to apply the principals of peer-led approaches in work in the Health Promotion team of Sexual Health and Blood Borne Virus unit alongside Natasha.

Biography

Natasha is a Wuthathi, Ngarrindjeri woman born and raised on Larrakia country. Natasha has completed over 15 years of Aboriginal Health Practitioner service delivery, she has two children and loves being an Aboriginal Health Practitioner. Her most recent project is a strategic workforce development series that targets all Aboriginal workforces and supporting them to build on their existing skills that improve their communities wellbeing by providing practical, culturally informed sessions that are designed to address appropriate management of Sexually transmitted infections as well as the shame and stigma related to sexual health, and to build the confidence in her workforce to talk about sexual health with young people.

Putu Duff is an epidemiologist working primarily on STI surveillance at ESR. As a scientist-epidemiologist, Putu's previous research has focused on the structural determinants of sexual and reproductive rights among marginalized populations in Canada and South-East Asia.

Callum is an Epidemiologist at the Institute of Environmental Science and Research (ESR), working primarily on STI surveillance. Callum also works half-time doing field epidemiology training in Papua New Guinea alongside colleagues in Australia.
