Biography

After the scientific series baccalaureate, he went to France to continue his studies in Management IT at the National Conservatory of Arts and Crafts (CNAM). It was during his stay in France, particularly in Paris, that he had to use hard drugs such as heroin and cocaine. He had a long journey as a drug user, who brought him back to Africa where he thought he could escape from hard drugs, unfortunately for him, drugs were already too present in Dakar, and it was almost impossible for him to s 'escape. He thus continued to consume it. It was through a methadone treatment program, carried out at CEPIAD (Dakar Integrated Addiction Care Center) that he was co-opted. And after three months of inclusion, the center offered to join the Austrian team for field interventions. This opportunity allowed him to refer injecting drug users, but also to distribute harm reduction tools. Since 2014, when the center opened, he has acted as a peer relay to make the links between the CDI care structure and the CDIs themselves. It is during our interventions we do awareness activities on pathologies related to the environment of CDI; HCV, HBV, HIV, TB. You just have to remember that these pathologies are taken care of at Cepiad.
