Adelina is Assistant professor at the Université de Montréal and Researcher at the Centre de Recherche du Centre Hospitalier de l’Université de Montréal. Her research interests are on the prevention of hepatitis C, HIV, overdose and other drug-related harms using epidemiology and mathematical modelling.

Zuzana Svobodová, Ph.D. is an Assistant Professor at the Faculty of Pharmacy, Charles University in Hradec Králové. Her academic background includes a Ph.D. in Analytical Chemistry and a Master’s in Analysis of Biological Materials from the University of Pardubice. She has completed several research stays at the Institut Curie in Paris. Dr. Svobodová is an experienced lecturer and guarantor of Cell Biology courses, author of textbooks, creator of e learning materials, and supervisor of numerous theses. Although her research background lies in bioanalysis, she has in recent years shifted her focus toward dependence‑related public health issues and substance use‑related topics. She has published 15 peer-reviewed papers, co-authored patent, and is an active member of the Czech Society for Addictive Diseases, ACS, and the Czech Immunological Society.

Saket is responsible for the professional leadership of medical staff and clinical governance in Alcohol and Drugs Recovery Services in the largest health board in Scotland. He has led on a number of service developments in Glasgow, including Scotland’s first Heroin Assisted Treatment service and the Safer Drug Consumption Facility, which opened in early 2025. He is a graduate of the University of Glasgow medical school and qualified as a General Practitioner in 2003. Through working in deprived areas in the west of Scotland, he developed an interest in the management of substance misuse problems. Saket has been a member of various local and national committees in relation to drug policy and worked with the European Monitoring Committee on Drugs and Drugs Addiction prior to Brexit. He is involved in research and holds Honorary positions at Glasgow Caledonian University and University of Glasgow.

Dr. Mohammad Karamouzian (he/him) is an infectious disease epidemiologist who is passionate about global equity in health and social justice. His research focuses on addressing health inequities faced by marginalized populations such as female sex workers, people who inject drugs, and those who are incarcerated. He is committed to translating his research findings into effective policies that aim to significantly improve the health outcomes of marginalized populations. He is a scientist with the Centre on Drug Policy Evaluation at St. Michael’s Hospital in Toronto and an Assistant Professor at the University of Toronto. He is also affiliated with the WHO Collaborating Centre for HIV Surveillance (HIVHUB) in the Middle East and North Africa.
