Leah is an experience harm reduction nurse. She worked for 8 years working in Melbourne at Primary Health Services for people who inject drugs and as an outreach nurse supporting those experiencing homelessness. For the past 10 years, she’s been a vital part of the Rodger Wright Community Clinic, and in 2021, she completed her nurse prescriber course to better serve our community. Leah is passionate about her role, especially when it comes to getting to know the people she meets and witnessing them take control of their health in their own time.

Gurneet is a Harm Reduction Response Coordinator at St. Boniface Hospital in Winnipeg, Manitoba, integrating harm reduction into acute care through provider education, consultation, resource development, and program coordination. They also work as a Housing Coordinator with the Winnipeg Regional Health Authority and an Adolescent Mental Health Counsellor with Manitoba Adolescent Treatment Centre. They hold a Master of Health Administration from the University of Regina and are currently pursuing a Master of Counselling at Athabasca University. Their work focuses on reducing substance-use stigma, improving health equity, and strengthening trauma-informed, person-centred care for people who use substances across acute and community settings.

Magdalena Harris is Professor of Inclusion Health Sociology at the London School of Hygiene & Tropical Medicine. She draws on her lived experience to lead a programme of work aiming to improve harm reduction services and access to care for people who use crack cocaine and heroin in the United Kingdom.

Brooke is the communications manager at the International Network on Health and Hepatitis in Substance Users (INHSU) and a freelance journalist and storyteller. With a journalism degree and 15 years’ experience in communications, Brooke is a firm believer in the power of stories to create change. Her work has been published in three books and multiple global magazines.
