Bio Andile Frazer Mpofu is a 24-year-old young activist, community organiser, and human rights advocate from Zimbabwe, working at the intersection of sex workers’ rights, transgender and intersex rights, sexual and reproductive health and rights, HIV, and social justice. Andile is the Programmes Coordinator for the Sex Workers and Their Children Support Network Zimbabwe, a sex worker-led organisation working to advance the rights, health, wellbeing, and dignity of sex workers and their children. Their work focuses on community mobilisation, stigma reduction, access to sexual and reproductive health services, advocacy, and strengthening community-led responses. Andile is also a Focal Person for Purple Royale Trans Amplified Voices, supporting advocacy and community initiatives that promote the rights, visibility, safety, and wellbeing of transgender and intersex people. As a transgender woman with lived experience of marginalisation, Andile brings an authentic community perspective to advocacy and policy spaces. They have experience in human rights documentation, community engagement, policy advocacy, youth participation, and working with key populations. Their advocacy is centred on ensuring that communities most affected by inequality are meaningfully represented in decision-making and are empowered to lead the solutions affecting their lives. Andile is passionate about strengthening young people’s leadership, advancing inclusive health systems, challenging stigma and discrimination, and promoting dignity, equality, and human rights for marginalised communities in Zimbabwe and beyond.
