Dr Dzmitry Krupchanka is a Medical Officer at the Alcohol, Drugs and Addictive Behaviours Unit (ADA), Department of Mental Health, Brain Health and Substance Use (MSD) of the World Health Organization (WHO). In this role he is responsible for implementing a range of activities in prevention, treatment and care of disorders due substance use, addictive behaviours and related health conditions. This includes contribution to WHO normative guidance and technical support to countries, generation, and dissemination of evidence through international research projects, workforce development, monitoring and evaluation, enhancing joint efforts and advocacy in the area of alcohol, drugs and addictive behaviours. Dzmitry is a medical doctor and psychiatrist by professional background (Belarusian State Medical University, Belarus) with a MSc degree in Global Mental Health (University of London, UK) and PhDs in Clinical Psychiatry and Global Health (University of Geneva, Switzerland).
