Methadone is one of the more tightly regulated medications globally; it is also one of the most disparately. The differences in experiences for patients and clinicians can strain our shared understanding when we discuss it in an international forum. By juxtaposing people with lived experiencing accessing – and not accessing – methadone with clinicians and researchers, the story behind the data unfolds.

Biography
Morgan Godvin is a researcher with Drug Checking Los Angeles at the University of California Los Angeles. Her work focuses on opioid agonist treatment, overdose prevention, and illicit drug supply analysis. She previously served a four-year term on Oregon’s Alcohol and Drug Policy and Measure 110 Oversight and Accountability Council.
