This session will enable attendees to understand how the global cuts have impacted different groups globally, how each of these groups are navigating in these challenging times, and how we, as a global community, can support each other. Presenters will include two early-mid career researchers, two nurses, and two community members from across the INHSU network. This will be followed by a Q&A and panel discussion.

Based in Brussels now, but formerly from Kyiv, Ukraine. Master’s degree in international economy. Globally known activist of the community of people who use drugs and OST patients, people living with HIV and lived experience with HCV. Since 2010 started his work in HIV and TB-service, Harm Reduction and advocacy field in local and national NGOs in Ukraine. Since 2013 worked for international Alliance for Public Health, coordinating international and national projects of HIV, TB, viral hepatitis prevention and treatment among key populations as well as advising on Communities, Rights and Gender issues. Author of different articles, guidelines and publications for communities and professionals. Founder of PUD.UA/VOLNa. Formerly Board member of INPUD and EKPC. Member of the Communities Delegation of the Global Fund Board and CCM of Ukraine. Since 2021 he is a Programme Manager on Quality of Life in EATG team. Community Manager at the European Federation of Allergies and Airways Diseases Patients’ Associations (EFA) in 2023-2024. Since 2025 is an Executive Director of the International Network of People who Use Drugs (INPUD).

Dr Thato Chidarikire is currently holding the position of a National Technical Officer, Lead for HIV Testing, Prevention, STIs and Harm reduction Programmes within the WHO country office, South Africa. She is the focal person in the South Africa WHO Country Office for technical management of HIV prevention related work through coordination with the NDOH counterparts, donors and health partners in these areas. Her main roles include, technical support on HIV programmes on normative guidance, policy alignment, laboratory interface and diagnostics for the National Department of Health, strengthening capacity and building partnerships for the control of HIV and AIDS in the country with a specific focus on HIV Prevention. She has over 20 years experience in the HIV field including public health, laboratory interface, diagnostics, research and clinical trials. Previously she was Director for HIV Prevention Programmes as well as Acting Chief Director for HIV and AIDS and STIs Cluster in the NDOH. She holds a PhD from The University of the Witwatersrand, with a specialty in Virology.

Patrick Kelly is a fourth year doctoral candidate in Behavioral and Social Health Sciences at the Brown University School of Public Health. His research integrates qualitative methods and computational techniques to explore how psychosocial and structural factors, like policy, influence medical decision-making among people who use drugs, LGBTQ individuals, and the intersections of these populations. Mr. Kelly’s dissertation, funded by the National Institute on Drug Abuse, investigates the health effects of xylazine. Using natural language processing, he is developing a computable phenotype to identify xylazine exposure in electronic health records. His work has been published in leading journals, including Nature Human Behaviour, and he currently serves as the Student Editor of the American Journal of Public Health. Patrick holds a BS in Public Health and an MPH in Social and Behavioral Sciences from Temple University.

Siriporn Nonenoy is the Clinical Research Program Manager at the Institute of HIV Research and Innovation (IHRI) in Bangkok, Thailand. With over 20 years of experience in HIV clinical research, she has contributed to more than 30 studies focusing on HIV therapeutics and prevention. She played a key role in coordinating and monitoring Thai study sites for several NIH-funded projects on the optimal timing of antiretroviral therapy initiation, including the Staccato and SMART studies. Currently, Siriporn leads multiple clinical research projects such as HPTN 083, PURPOSE-2 (ISLEND-2), PALISADE, and EXPrESSIVE-11. Her responsibilities include site coordination and preparation, meeting facilitation, training, community consultation, and ensuring that study implementation aligns with sponsor and local timelines. In addition to her research management roles, Siriporn oversees all Community Advisory Board meetings and community engagement activities. She ensures that these are conducted, documented, and supported in accordance with Good Participatory Practice (GPP) guidelines.
