Professor Adrian Dunlop has over 30 years’ experience as a drug & alcohol clinician/researcher. He is the Director and Addiction Medicine Senior Staff Specialist with Hunter New England Local Health District, Conjoint Professor with the School of Medicine and Public Health, University of Newcastle and an affiliate of the Hunter Medical Research Institute. He is a member and past chair of the NSW Drug & Alcohol Clinical Research & Improvement Network.
He is Past-President of the Australasian Chapter of Addiction Medicine, Royal Australasian College of Physicians, Past President of the Australian Professional Society on Alcohol and other Drugs and was Chief Addiction Medicine Specialist for NSW Ministry of Health.

Dr. Heetun graduated from Trinity College Dublin in 2006 and obtained further credentials from the Royal College of Physicians in Ireland in 2009. In 2015, he achieved the esteemed Certificate of Completion of Specialist Training in Gastroenterology and General Internal Medicine from the Royal College of Physicians in Ireland. Prior to his current role, Dr. Heetun served as a Locum Consultant Gastroenterologist in Dublin. However, his passion for healthcare in Mauritius led him back to his homeland, where he currently serves as an Advisor in Gastroenterology at the Ministry of Health and Wellness. Stationed at Dr. Abdool Gaffoor Jeetoo Hospital, he has been instrumental in expanding endoscopy and gastroenterology services since 2018. His efforts culminated in the establishment of the Centre for Gastroenterology and Hepatology in 2023, marking a significant milestone in healthcare advancement in Mauritius. In 2019, he was appointed as the chairperson of the National Committee on Viral Hepatitis, and has overseen the treatment of over 6000 patients affected with Hepatitis C, radially transforming the treatment landscape in Mauritius within a few years.

Julia has 10 years’ experience of working with people at risk of viral hepatitis – people in prison, substance users, homeless and migrants.
Passionate about the rights of and equality for women affected by the criminal justice system, Julia joined the Hepatitis C Trust in 2018 as the Women’s Prison Peer support lead, in 2019 Julia took over the lead role and today is the Women’s National Criminal Justice Manager.
Diagnosed with hepatitis C in 2007, Julia cleared the virus in 2017 after taking DDA’s.
