Angela McBride is a woman who uses drugs and the Executive Director for the South African Network of People who Use Drugs (SANPUD). Angela has worked in the field of harm reduction for over 7 years, with lived experience working and participating in abstinence programs and centres while studying at the University of Pretoria, prior to being introduced to harm reduction as an intervention to mitigate the harms experienced by people who use drugs.

Vielta Parkhomenko is a seasoned activist and consultant specializing in gender issues and harm reduction. With a Master's degree in Psychology from Kyiv University Boris Grinchenko, she brings over a decade of experience in NGO management, project coordination, and training development. Vielta has been instrumental in designing and implementing programs that empower key communities, particularly women and men who use drugs. Her work focuses on promoting human rights, preventing gender-based violence, and improving access to healthcare services. As a skilled communicator and facilitator, Vielta has conducted numerous trainings and workshops, both nationally and internationally, on topics ranging from peer counseling to opioid overdose management. She is known for her dedication to social justice and her ability to inspire positive change in her community.

Angela McBride is a woman who uses drugs and the Executive Director for the South African Network of People who Use Drugs (SANPUD). Angela has worked in the field of harm reduction for over 7 years, with lived experience working and participating in abstinence programs and centres while studying at the University of Pretoria, prior to being introduced to harm reduction as an intervention to mitigate the harms experienced by people who use drugs.
Angela worked with experts on the formative assessment and first needle syringe pilot project in South Africa, working as a peer educator and later coordinator for the needle/syringe programs and peer-involved harm reduction projects in South Africa. During this time, Angela also assisted in the BMSF Hepatitis research study that took place, conducting testing and counselling as well as training and information sharing on hepatitis.

Marie Jauffret-Roustide is a Sociologist, Research Fellow at the French National Institute of Health and Medical Research. She supervised an international research program on harm reduction policies in different settings focusing on the evaluation of drug consumption rooms and community-based project on gender, migration and stigma in access to care.
