Marcie McIlveen is the program director of HAMSMART and a sessional professor at McMaster in Health Sciences. She has lived experience of homelessness, hospitalization, substance use, and criminal justice involvement. Her commitment to this work and to change centres around those experiences. She finds it both honouring and humbling to have the opportunity to walk alongside people as they chart their path

Dr. Michelle Olding (MPH, PhD) is a postdoctoral researcher in the division of social and behavioral sciences at the Dalla Lana School of Public Health. Drawing on qualitative, ethnographic and participatory methods, Dr. Olding studies community-based and health system interventions to advance health equity for people who use drugs.

Biography

Tanisha Palmer is a Research Assistant at the CDPE, providing administrative and outreach support to the T-DOT cohort studies. Tanisha has front-line experience working with people who use drugs (PWUD) across different service sectors such as community health, housing and overdose prevention sites. Tanisha’s passion lies in harm reduction education, particularly geared towards youth and knowledge translation aiming to improve existing services that support people who use drugs, particularly those who are under and unhoused. She is passionate about community engagement, with a health equity lens to address the gaps in healthcare delivery for our most vulnerable community members. Tanisha holds a Master of Arts in Social Justice and Community Engagement.

His work addresses anti-Black racism, HIV and substance use-related stigma, homophobia, and other barriers to social inclusion. Orville holds a BSc. in Economics and Gender Studies from University of the West Indies.
