His research activities are conducted at the CHUM Research Centre (Montréal) and focus on the epidemiology of drug injecting and HCV. He is supervised by Prof. Julie Bruneau and Prof. Jason Grebely.

Marie Jauffret-Roustide is a Sociologist, Research Fellow at Inserm in France. Her research focuses mainly on harm reduction policies including HCV, migration, and gender issues in drug policies; as well as users' involvement in harm reduction. She has coordinated evaluative intervention studies among vulnerable populations, using a community-based research approach.

Alexandra Almeida holds bachelors and master’s degrees from top universities in Brazil in applied statistics. She recently completed her PhD in Epidemiology and is a PhD student in Substance Use in SDSU. Since 2015 she has worked as a statistician at FIOCRUZ and has taught courses in biostatistics.
