Details
Australia’s national budget has funded distribution of PrEP to those without Medicare but each state and territory is implementing it differently. This session will discuss how the various Australian jurisdictions are implementing PrEP programs for those without Medicare, including challenges, opportunities, and early impact of these initiatives.
Learning Objectives
To share knowledge on the successes and challenges of implementing PrEP to those without Medicare at a systems and programmatic level, such as service capacity, pharmacy engagement, and supply

Dr James Gray is the Principal Director, Australia Program at Health Equity Matters, the national federation for Australia’s leading HIV and LGBTIQA+ organisations. He recently completed a PhD at the Kirby Institute, UNSW. His research is focused on the experiences of male HIV sero-discordant couples in Australia, Brazil and Thailand.
