Details

Since PrEP’s introduction, HIV prevention in recent years has largely focused on biomedical HIV prevention such as PrEP and TasP. This session aims to discuss the extent to which condoms and other behavioural risk reduction strategies are still used, and the tension and opportunities for these strategies to complement each other.

Learning Objectives

  • To outline the current state of condom use.
  • To describe how health promotion and research incorporate condom use into practice and research design.
  • To discuss tensions between behavioural risk reduction with biomedical prevention after normalisation of PrEP and U=U.
  • To assess the impact of shifting community practices by different key populations.
