Lindy Kanan is a social researcher with a focus on gender, migration and development in the Asia-Pacific region. Her recent projects have investigated the intersections of sexual and reproductive health and rights, and women’s safety in the context of temporary migration to Australia from Timor-Leste and the Pacific region. Lindy is a PhD candidate at the University of the Sunshine Coast and works part-time with the University of Sydney on a study funded by NSW Health which aims to better understand the sexual and reproductive health needs of Pacific Australia Labour Mobility scheme workers.

With 32 years' experience in women's health, I practice as an Endorsed Midwife and Nurse Practitioner at Caboolture Women & Girls Health Hub, delivering integrated care to women experiencing vulnerability and disadvantage. My qualifications include a Diploma of Applied Science (Nursing), Midwifery Certificate with Prescribing Endorsement, Master of Health Management, and Master of Nurse Practitioner.
