Details
This session explores the approach taken by a multidisciplinary research team — to co-create multilevel interventions aimed at reducing the incidence of STIs in Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities.
These projects apply a program science framework designed to respond to inequity existing in Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities, as well as intersecting factors that shape STI incidence and prevalence in communities.
This session will deliver work done to date, to co create interventions with communities, gathering of information to shape the multilevel interventions, our proposed evaluation framework, and ethical dimensions and methodological approaches underpinning intervention design. Presenters will share how interventions are being ethically and methodologically developed at three core levels of influence: community and individuals, health services, and at a system/structural level.
This session contributes to national conversations on the ethical and effective design of STI responses grounded in Indigenous leadership, that is responsive to social and cultural determinants of health, and embedded within existing service and governance structures.
