Biography

Dr Causer is a medical epidemiologist at the Kirby Institute, UNSW Sydney and Lead for the Decentralised Diagnostics Implementation Research Group. She is the Sexually Transmitted Infections (STI) lead for the First Nations Molecular Point of Care Testing Program for infectious disease in regional and remote First Nations health services.

Biography

Robert Monaghan is a descendant of the Bundjalung (on his Grandmother’s side) and Gumbaynggir (on his Grandfather’s side) Nations, his family and extended family are from the North Coast NSW alongside the Clarence River at Baryulgil. He has worked within the Aboriginal community-controlled health sector with national, state and local governments for over 25 years. Robert is the Kirby Institute’s inaugural Manager of First Nations Health Research. In this role, he leads the development of systems, policies, and a cultural framework to support the Kirby Institute’s First Nations health research, is Chair of the Kirby Institute’s First Nations health research advisory committee, and a member of the Executive Committee.

Carol is a Senior Research Fellow in the UQ Poche Centre for Indigenous Health, managing the ATLAS Indigenous primary care surveillance network.

The catchment area incorporates approximately 21,000 individuals who are often marginalised from healthcare resulting in limited accessibility of healthcare needs. Hollie continually advocates that sexual healthcare should be available for all regardless of their postcode.
