Alexis is the current ASHM CEO and has been since 2018. Alexis started working in the HIV sector in 2000 in South Africa before moving to Australia in 2008. He has remained passionate about public health and the role social enterprise plays in enabling equity, choice and access of healthcare, free of stigma and discrimination, as basic human rights.

Dr Jason Leo Iane Mitchell is a Fijian public health leader working at the intersection of HIV, sexual health, and health systems transformation in the Pacific. With over two decades of experience, his work spans policy development, programme design, and institutional strengthening across national and regional responses. He currently leads Fiji’s HIV epidemic response, bringing together government, communities, and partners to deliver evidence-informed, culturally grounded solutions. Jason’s work is driven by a commitment to equity, dignity, and rethinking sexual health beyond disease control, with a focus on building responsive systems that reflect the realities of Pacific peoples.

Loata Tucika Seru (Mrs) is the Interim Chief Executive Officer of Pacific Sexual and Gender Diversity Network (PSGDN), a Pacific regional LGBTQIA+ network representing 33 National Member Organisations across the 14 Pacific Island Countries and Tahiti. She provides strategic leadership in advancing Community-Led HIV Prevention, Monitoring, and Health equity for key populations across the Pacific region.

Joeli Colati is a passionate HIV advocate, community leader, and Executive Director of Fiji Network Plus. As a person openly living with HIV who is undetectable, he uses his lived experience to inspire hope, challenge stigma, and advocate for the rights, dignity, and wellbeing of people living with HIV and key populations.
With over a decade and a half of experience working with Fiji Network Plus, the Fiji Ministry of Health and Medical Services, and as an SSA with the World Health Organization (WHO Fiji), based within the Family Health Unit, Joeli has dedicated his career to strengthening HIV programmes and championing community-led responses. His unwavering commitment is driven by one simple belief: NO ONE SHOULD FACE HIV ALONE. He continues to be a strong voice for those whose stories are often unheard, working to build a future where everyone can live with dignity, equality, and hope.

Dr Pilly Mapira is Executive Manager for Disease Control, Health Security & Surveillance at Papua New Guinea’s National Department of Health. She is a public health physician with over 20 years of experience in public health, research, academia and government. She leads national efforts in disease control, surveillance, health security, emergency preparedness and health systems strengthening.

Michael brings a wealth of experience to this role with his career as a general practitioner and health researcher. He previously served as President for the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners and the World Organization of Family Doctors and held academic appointments at Monash University, the University of Sydney, Flinders University, the Australian National University and the University of Toronto.
Michael currently is a Fellow of the Australian Academy of Health and Medical Sciences and is the Foundation Director of the International Centre for Future Health Systems at the University of New South Wales.

Keynote Speaker: HIV in the Pacific: Harnessing our collective power

Eamonn Murphy leads UNAIDS’ efforts in promoting an expanded and integrated United Nations system response to HIV for the Asia Pacific, Eastern Europe and Central Asia regions. His team supports countries across the regions in achieving the goals outlined in the United Nations Political Declaration on Ending AIDS and the implementation of the Global AIDS Strategy. His role includes providing strategic direction, advocacy, coordination, and technical support needed to catalyse and connect leadership from governments, communities, and key partners to deliver life-saving HIV services. Formerly, Mr Murphy was the UNAIDS Deputy Executive Director a.i., Regional Director for Asia Pacific, as well as UNAIDS Country Director in Myanmar and Viet Nam. He also served as Director of Governance, United Nations System and Donor Relations at UNAIDS in Geneva. Before joining the UN in 2002, Mr Murphy held several senior positions with the Australian Government, including Director for Health Sectors with AusAID in the Foreign Ministry, Head of the Communicable Diseases and Environmental Health Branch, and Director of the National AIDS Programme for the Commonwealth Health Department.
